APPROACH BY WATER
Silver Spring Marine is located at the head of Point Judith Pond where
the Pond meets US Route 1. Silver Spring Marine is the marina
located the furthest west at:
N 41o 25' 38"
W 71o 30' 02"
Starting at the Point Judith Harbor
of Refuge (41, 22N/71, 29W) proceed north up the pond to green
buoy 33. The well-marked channel will bring you to the head of
the pond where you face several marinas. Silver Spring Marine
is the furthest marina on your left.
The Pond has some shallow
areas, so be sure to stay in the channel while navigating. The
Point Judith Harbor of Refuge is only eight miles from Block Island
and a short distance from Newport, Narragansett Bay and Long Island
Sound.
The pond is a fairly calm place to stay during a storm.
Docking is easy because there is no current and there are floating
docks. The staff monitors VHF channel 7. For a larger view of the chart CLICK HERE.
